The Outsiders English Literature Activity - Historical Context
Learners are asked to research information about America in the 1960s in order to get some background information on the novel.
Harry Potter & The Fantastic Beasts English PPT & Worksheet Task
Get your learners to create their own magical creature to add to ‘Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them’ book.
They will start by looking at an extract from the book and doing a task on this. Then they will begin to create their own creature.
Please note that this PPT and Worksheet was not my original idea and I used FREE resources that I found on TES and the internet to put into a PPT. I adapted this PPT and created the worksheet myself using these ideas.

An A3 worksheet that learners can fill in as they read through the novel.
The Outsiders English Literature Novel Slang Words Worksheet & Answer Sheet
The worksheet contains sixteen slang words which appear in the novel. Learners will be asked to match the slang word with the correct definition by drawing a line from the question in the first column to the correct answer in the second column.
An answer sheet is provided.
Pride Month 2X English Writing Article Tasks LGBTQ+ Functional Skills / KS3/ GCSE
2X English Article Writing Activities
These tasks are based on two UK headlines: Gay conversion therapy and a campaigner’s appeal for gender-neutral passports.
The learner will see the headline first and then will be given some information based on that topic. They will then be asked to write an article putting forward their views on this topic.
This research/ writing task was created to inform learners that the LGBTQ+ community still do not have certain rights in the UK. These are also great discussion topics for a group debate.
Pride bordered writing pages are attached to each task.
The Euros Football English Writing Article Writing Task
An English Article Writing Activity.
This task gives the learner the following scenario: Your country’s football team have won the UEFA European Championship! To celebrate, you are planning to host a FREE entry party in the gardens of your local church.
Ideas are given to what the learner may want to writing in the article, space is provided for planning and an article planning grid and writing paper are attached.

There are statements on 2X cards each, which use one of the techniques above.
These cards were created so that my learners could play a ‘match a pair’ game. Turn all of the cards over on the table. Get the learners to take it in turns to turn over two cards, if the statements match the technique then they ‘win’ that pair of cards. If they don’t match, then they turn them back over and another player gets to choose two cards. Continue until all the cards are matched.
These can also be used as flash cards or revision cards and the cards are double sided, with a colourful polka dot design on the opposite side.
Also attached, are a set of cards ( buyer to cut out) with each of the following persuasive devices names written on them. You can get your learners to place the correct statement cards under each of these headings.

English Activity: Facebook Character Profile Template
Get your learners to pick one of the characters from a book they are reading and then create a Facebook profile for that character. They will fill in all of the information that they know about them from the book and add other additional presumed information of their own.
They will also write a status that sums up what that character is feeling at a particular moment in the book.

Emoji Similes - English Figurative Language Worksheet
This is an English activity which can be used with primary and secondary aged learners. The learner will look at each of the 12 emojis and will be asked to write a simile which describes the emotion of each emoji.

Emoji Emotions: Character Feelings English Literature Worksheet
Learners will use the worksheet to describe how their book’s character is feeling by drawing the emotion on the emoji’s face. Following this, they will write down as many adjectives as they can think of, around the emoji, which describe these feelings.

24X Irregular Plural Flash Cards
In the exam, learners are expected to write the plural form of a word. They will be expected to know a list of common plural nouns that don’t follow the usual spelling conventions.Each singular noun and its irregular plural form is on one of the 24 cards.
You could add an extension activity and turn this into a matching game ( match the noun to the plural form). Learners could also create a sentence which includes each word.
